Thank You and Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Day has been an annual holiday in the United States for more than 150 years. In addition to eating turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, creamed onions, cranberries and pumpkin pie, families and friends gather around the table to give thanks for all they have.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving Day, we express our thanks to the many companies who generously supported Feed My Starving Children this year, including Johnson & Johnson, NFP, Penn Color, Contract Pharmacy Services, Penn Engineering, The Kennedy Dealerships, The Arris Group, Laboratory Testing Inc., CNA Insurance Group, Tozour Energy Systems, Meridian Bank, Citizens Bank and Zenith Insurance.

Feed My Starving Children tackles world hunger by sending volunteer-packed, nutritious meals to 70 countries, where they are used to operate orphanages, schools, clinics and feeding programs to break the cycle of poverty. Last year, this organization mobilized more than 1 million volunteers to pack more than 273 million meals.

During the first weekend of October, local volunteers from Bucks, Montgomery and other counties rallied to be part of the hunger solution through a partnership between Central Bucks MobilePack and Feed My Starving Children. In 22 hours of sweat equity (11 two hour shifts) volunteers packed 544,291 meals saving the lives of 1,491 children! They also collected 1,032 pounds of food to restock local food pantries!
