From Gerry’s Desk – REMINDER – New Reporting Requirements from OSHA
There is a new reporting requirement from OSHA affecting all employers.
In the past, employers were only required to report a work-related fatality or when three or more workers were hospitalized in the same occurrence.
It has now changed.
Employers are required not only to report all work related fatalities within 8 hours , but in addition, all work-related inpatient hospitalizations, amputations, and loss of an eye within 24 hours.
These updated reporting requirements were enacted to enable employers and workers to prevent future injuries by identifying and eliminating the most serious workplace hazards.
